Lonely Lion (Zimbabwe)

Not For Sale

Acrylic, 11" x 15", Black frame with cream linen matt

One late afternoon in Zimbabwe when we were driving back to our camp we heard a huge ruckus coming from a grove of trees. Baboons were jumping and screeching and when we went to look we could see a lone lion partially hidden in the bush and long grass below the trees. Having been discovered he stolled out in front of our jeep and lay down in a shady area and looked back at us. Our guide told us he was a young male as you can see from the start of his mane. He was the only lion we saw alone.
