I picked up my paintings yesterday from the Ferry Building. What a marvellous venue and great staff. One of the things I will most remember is the feedback I got from visitors both in person and those left in the Guest Comments sheet as well as from the docents and staff. One of the things that made me happy was all the feedback about how the paintings made others feel happy -- what more could an artist want than to get this kind of positive response -- so thank you to everyone, the whole thing was a wonderful experience. Had a wonderful reception for the opening of the show on June 26th. The weather was lovely, the installation of the paintings looked great and lots of people showed up -- so I relaxed and had a wonderful time. I was back on Saturday June 30th for "meet the artist" and that is when I took these photo's - missed the paintings at the front of the building so will try to get another photo before the show comes down. Unfortunately I do not have any photos of the reception. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS TAKEN THE TIME AND MADE THE EFFORT TO GET TO THE SHOW - IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED.

Reception: Tuesday June 26th 6 to 8 pm Location: Ferry Building Gallery, 1414 Argyle Ave. West Vancouver The show will continue to Saturday July 15th. As promised I have added a Gallery to my website so you can get a sneak peek (not peak) of the paintings that will be in the show. The paintings vary in size from 8" x 8" (the last 6 paintings on the page are what I call my mini's) to 36" x 48". As the title of the show indicates the majority are mixed media and the subject matter is also mixed. If you are interested in viewing the paintings click on the link below and then look under galleries. The paintings that will be at the show are located under the title Ferry Building. Lets hope for some wonderful summer weather and I look forward to seeing some of you soon. www.lindabell.ca (posted on 6 Jun 2018)
Here is your invitation to my show at the Ferry Building. I will be sending out a sneak peak of the paintings that will be in the show a week before it starts. Hope to see some of you at the reception! I will also be at the Ferry Building on Saturday afternoon June 30th You can access my website at www.lindabell.ca
I also currently have two paintings in the South Delta Artists Guild "Oil and Water Show". Check out the information on this show at the South Delta Artists Guild Website. There are lots of great paintings at this show, check it out. The show ends on June 24th. One of my paintings called "Celebration" won an Honourable Mention Award. I am very pleased that this painting was bought by another artist.

I have continued to work on abstraction and recently did these 2 abstracted prairie landscapes.

I have been experimenting with developing abstract patterns with Mini paintings on Watercolour paper. They are fun to do and they are are great for exploring simple shape and line. I have also experimented with fixing some of them onto 8"x8" cradled wood panels and some I plan to present under a 12" x 12" Matt (6.5" x 6'5" opening). These Mini's can be found in the abstract gallery. See examples below. The first one has been mounted on panel.

I will be having a solo show at the Ferry Building in West Vancouver called "Mixing It Up". The show will run from June 26th to July 15th. This is a wonderful venue on the waterfront in Ambleside and the weather should be lovely at that time. The reception is on Tuesday June 26th from 6 to 8 pm. Hope to see lots of you there so don't forget to make a note in your calendar. I will send out more information regarding the show in early June. I plan to have a variety of different paintings on display in keeping with the title of the show. The painting below is called Runic Fragments. (posted on 24 Mar 2018)
I added a new gallery to my website called "From My Travels". I was inspired to do that as I have recently painted a couple of scenes from my trip to France and Italy last fall. In addition I came across a photo of a Kudu that I took in Africa several years a go and used it as basis for another painting. When I uploaded these paintings I wasn't sure which one of my galleries they fit best in as they could be of a variety of content areas from landscapes to people or animals. So I selected a number of previous paintings from "my travels" added my 3 new paintings and created this new gallery. Hopefully I will keep adding to it with new paintings.
