African Kudo

Mixed Media on Canvas 20" x 20"

I painted this from a photo I took in Botswana years ago. The Kudo is absolutely beautiful animal with unique facial markings. I have tried to paint a Kudo a number of times unsuccessfully and this time I abstracted the colours and the background and while this does not capture the true nature of the Kudu I think it works better than previous paintings for some reason.
