One of my paintings " Rock Paper Scissors" was chosen for the FCA 2015 Calendar. It is the November Painting. Check it out at www.artists.ca (posted on 21 Nov 2014)
I am learning that I need to live with a painting for a while before I post it. I often discover things I want to change when I have not looked at a painting for a while - I see it with a fresh eye and have a better idea what might make it better. The painting catnap looked too cool and I wasn't satisfied with the values so I added a bit of warmth changed the girls top and strengthed the values. See below I expect I will make some changes to the painting Men Working as well sometime soon.

See blog post September 8th. -- well it happened. I taped a couple of shows of the TV series Arrow and saw one of my paintings in " Felicitie's Apt" -- see below it the the one with the turquoise over the guys shoulder. That made me check on line to see what was happening with the Grumpy Cat movie and there was an announcement that it will be aired at the end of November and they had a trailer for it -- and low and behold one of my paintings appeared in one of the clips - just above the girl who is holding Grumpy Cat. What fun.

I have not painted much these last few months but I am finallly back at it and just posted a new painting called catnap for obvious reasons. (see below) I also just learned that one of my paintings was accepted for the 2015 FCA Calendar. Check out the FCA website (see links) - there are 100 lovely paintings in the 365 online Gallery to look at. I will post a photo of the calendar once it is available.

Earlier this year i took some paintings into AION Art Gallery and Film rentals. I am happy to say that they have been rented out to the following: TV Series -- Arrow - apparently the painting below "Branching Out" was intended to go into Felicity's apartment. Movie in Production --- Grumpy Cat - Worst Xmas (all 5 paintings below) I love this! I have no idea at all if any of the paintings will show up on film -- but -- let me know if you see them.

I did the painting At the Table a while ago and hung it on the wall in my living room. I was just not satisfied with it and in particular the table and bottles and vases bothered me -- so today I painted out a section and re did it along with touch ups on other parts of the two canvas. See below -- the top one is the updated painting and the one below is the original. I am hoping I will be satisfied with this as I look at it every day.

1. I was named FCA Artist of the Month and my painting " Three Bottles" will be on display at Van City for August
2. I won an award of Excellence for " Rock, Paper, Scissors" at the SDAG Oil and Water Show.
3. I was asked to participate in the West Van Harmony Arts Festival - by putting my painting in a Business Window. I was fortunate as the business is right across from the Ferry Building on Bellevue Avenue in a Men's clothing Store. See photo below. You can see the tents set up for the Harmony Arts Festival reflected in the window. The painting is the cat Idioms painting that you see on this blog and under the Critters section of the Galleries.
