I am really happy to tell you that I was notified this Sunday that I was awarded associate signature status (AFCA) with the Federation of Canadian Artists -- Yahoo! Three of my paintings are being shown with the other new signature members at the SUCCESS Show at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island. Check it out at www.artists.ca and if you are in the vicinity stop by the FCA Gallery. The show runs from March 11th to the 23rd.
I am back to painting after my trip and just finished a sheep that I started before I left. I call him Ba Ba Black Sheep. I also took an old canvas with an abstract painting and created another Wonky Pots painting.
I just returned from South East Asia - Traveling to Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. It was a very interesting and informative trip but tiring. I have posted some of my photo's of the beginning of the trip in Myanmar and will try to post some more later of highlights in the other countries.

The Gogos Art Auction - Raising money for Grandmothers in Africa will be held on Friday March 7th at the Quay in New Westminster. The artwork has been on tour over the last year in Western Canada. It is a really worthy cause which you can read about on their website. Art bidding can also be done online and on the phone. Check out the website for photo's of the lovely paintings and quilts. I posted a photo of the painting I donated on my blog last May.

I had two paintings accepted into this show at the Ferry Building in West Vancouver which will run from March 11th to 30th. The opening reception will be held March 11th from 6 pm to 8 pm. I will send out a reminder closer to the date and hope that some of you that live in the lower mainland will be able to attend. I think there will likely be 10 or more artists in this show.

Forth -- Aion Art Gallery
I have some paintings now consigned at the Aion Art Gallery. This gallery rents art out to the film industry. I was approached by the gallery owners as they thought some of my art would be suitable especially for scenes shot in cafe's around the city. I have no idea if this will be a success but thought it could be fun if my art ends up on some tv shows or even a movie. I will be sure to let you all know when and if that happens!

Thats all for now.
I have just added another still life painting to my galleries and I am process of doing another Sheep and an Owl. I am really into collage these days - hopefully I will get them finished before the New Year.
This is my latest collage -- it took a long time to do but I am happy with it. Don't you just love the long curly wool.
These 2 paintings are sort of reverse images of each other. The same paper and colors were used in both.
I continue to play with making new papers using some print making technigues. I am experimenting with how to use them in collage by doing some smaller works on watercolor paper. This is allowing me to try some things out and is also easier to "tack down" the collage paper on another paper rather than a canvas.
